The typeface was designed for the International Typeface Corporation in 1975-91 by Tony Stan, inspired by the typefaces of the French punchcutter Claude Garamond (middle of the 16th century) and its modern versions. This version has a large x-height, close letterspacing and a wide range of weights and widths. A very popular typeface in advertising, for catalogues, brochures and packaging. Cyrillic versions were developed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1993-1995 by Alexander Tarbeev. |
